Everything just feels so surreal right now. It’s like, I almost DIED yesterday! Y’all ready for this?
My brother and sister were driving me to see the boyf for a weekend of awesome, but it was pretty rainy. We got out of the rain, but at one point, the car in front of us quickly changed lanes, and my brother, the driver, didn’t have enough time to react to the GIANT puddle we were about to run into.
So we start through the puddle, and we’re turning toward the guard rails, and my brother has to maneuver through the rail and a car that was parked on the side of the road, which he does fantastically!
It’s all a bit of a blur after that for me because I was in the back, but I got the rest from the sibs. We’re still kind of spinning, and we think it’s alright, but somehow the front of our car ends up in the express way, and we end up under a semi truck, which hits us, completely demolishing our front passenger side, and then drives off, never to stop and check to make sure we’re okay.
So, I get up, find my shoes, realize my nose is bleeding, and my brother is checking on us. I get out of the car (a Subaru Impreza 2012 which fucking saved our lives more than you know), and I tell the man that helped me that I’m fine, but my sister is stuck.
I’m running around talking to the people that stopped, they’re telling me what happened, and finally the angel of a man that helped me (and my brother) out of the car also got my sister out!
Police, etc. are called, but we do a check on each other, and other than a couple cuts and bruises, we’re all okay! Firemen arrive, then police, then ambulance. There’s a lot of talking and making sure we’re okay. My parents arrive to take us to the hospital (no ambulance for us :( hah), Luke arrives to make sure I’m okay, and then we leave for Beaumont.
Mind you, we left the site at about 9 pm? A little before. My brother and I ended up home from the hospital at around 2 in the morning, and my sister got back at around 5!
My brother and I just have a ton of cuts and bruises, and my sister fractured her patella(?), so she has a cute little cast thing around her leg.
She’s lucky. We all are. That damn car had some great protection. I anything had gone even a little differently, there’s a chance we could be dead right now.
I love my siblings so much. I don’t know what I would do without them. I’m so happy that we are all okay!
Okay, end rant.
Glad you are all alright, this could have ended much worse. What a fantastic car.
